29. October 2008: Via Lactea II selected as one of the breakthroughs of 2008 by the panel on recent significant advancments of computational science of ASCR, the office of advanced scientific computer research. The NCCS press release and full report can be found here.
22. August 2008: GHALO is finally finished.
The first simulation to resolve a single collapsed object in the universe with more than one billion particles.
