I am a Scientist at the Department of Astronomy at the University of Michigan. My research covers a variety of areas in Astronomy and is based on the common theoretical framework of Galactic Dynamics. Some of the topics I have worked on address issues relating to supermassive black holes in galaxies and their role in the evolution of galaxies; the properties of the mysterious "Dark Matter" that constitutes most of the mass in the Universe and how we might be able to understand the properties of this matter using computer experiments; and how dynamical processes affect the evolution of galaxies in clusters.
Research Interests
- Dynamics of Galactic Nuclei with Supermassive Blackholes
- Non-linear dyamics and Mixing in Collisionless Systems
- Dynamical properties of Dark Matter
- Dynamical Evolution of Galaxies in Clusters
