I am a postdoctoral fellow at the University of Michigan, Department of Astronomy. I study astrophysical black holes and their relationship with their hosts, be they galaxy nuclei, dark matter halos, stellar clusters, or whatever.

2009 Oct 12 - Gültekin et al. (2009c) "The Fundamental Plane of Accretion onto Black Holes with Dynamical Masses" has been accepted for publication in ApJ. Short summary coming soon.

New short summary of our paper on the M–σ relation (and lots of other stuff).

I will be giving a talk in Brazil at the IAU Symposium 267: Evolution of Galaxies and Central Black Holes: Feeding and Feedback on 11 August 2009.

I gave the talk: "The IMBH–SMBH Connection" at UC Irvine on Thursday, April 2 for the IMBH Workshop.

Gültekin et al. (2009b) "The M-σ and M-L Relations in Galactic Bulges and Determinations of their Intrinsic Scatter" has been accepted for publication in ApJ. Short summary now available.

Gültekin et al. (2009a) "A Quintet of Black Hole Mass Determinations" has been accepted for publication in ApJ. Short summary is now available. We find masses for central black holes in five galaxies.
