I am a postdoctoral fellow at the University of Michigan, Department of Astronomy. I study astrophysical black holes and their relationship with their hosts, be they galaxy nuclei, dark matter halos, stellar clusters, or whatever.

News

Volonteri, Haardt, & Gültekin (2008) has been accepted for publication in MNRAS. Short summary is available here.

I will be giving a talk at AAS on my recent work with the Nukers. My talk is (unfortunately) on Friday during Session 144.07, which will be held from 10:00am to 11:30am. My talk is titled "The Fundamental Plane for Nuclear Black Hole Masses". I will also be part of a press conference on Wednesday at 10:30am regarding my work with Kelly Holley-Bockelmann for our poster at Session #49.02, titled "Gravitational Wave Recoil and the Retention of Intermediate-Mass Black Holes".

A couple of preprints have appeared recently. I should really get links up to those.
