I am interested in understanding more about the physics of galaxy evolution. A few questions I'm currently thinking about are: Why do some galaxies grow through star formation, while others long ago ceased to form new stars? How frequently do galaxies interact with each other? What are the effects of these interactions? I explore these questions using a variety of observational and simple modeling techniques.

Teaching
I've not started teaching yet at UM. Here are links to two of the courses I taught at the University of Heidelberg.
- Observing the Big Bang, a course on observational cosmology for advanced undergraduates
- Galaxies, an introductory graduate course
Publications
- ADS search
- Conduct a search of the SAO/NASA Astrophysics Data System for papers that include me as an author.
