Observatory Nights

Angell Hall

Open Houses at the Angell Hall Student Observatory and Planetarium are run by the Student Astronomical Society. Their schedule is available at http://www.astro.lsa.umich.edu/sas/openhouse.html.

Special Events are occasionally held by the department, usually in conjunction with SAS. Upcoming special events are on the events page.

Peach Mountain

The University Lowbrow Astronomers run the 24" McMath-Hulbert optical telescope located at Peach Mountain (part of Stinchfield Woods) in Dexter. Their open house schedule is at http://www.umich.edu/~lowbrows/calendar/.

The Peach Mountain Radio Telescope is also open on the third Sunday of September every year, from 2 - 4 in the afternoon with a formal lecture at 2:15. Directions and policies are on the Peach Mountain page. The 2011 date is Sept 18.

Detroit Observatory

Tours of the historic Detroit Observatory (on the corner Ann and Observatory streets in Ann Arbor) are run by the Bentley Historical Library. See http://bentley.umich.edu/observatory/ for more information.

The Astronomy Department has recently joined the Bent ely in an effort to run Viewing Nights. These nights are weather dependent, so PLEASE check the viewing nights page before coming out.
