Mosaic on PCs and Macs

We are aware that some versions of NCSA Mosaic for both PC (Windows) and Macintosh computers exhibit problems when used with a "forms"/CGI script interface such as this interactive UMRAO Database. Typically, the check and dialog boxes are not displayed.

For users who encounter this problem, we suggest exploring the use of `Netscape' -- versions being available for both PCs and Macs, or `lynx' -- which is a text-only Web browser.

Lynx

Lynx is a fully featured World-Wide Web browser for users on both UNIX and VMS platforms who are connected to those systems via cursor-addressable, character-cell terminals or emulators. That includes VT100 terminals, and desktop-based software packages emulating VT100 terminals (e.g., Kermit, Procomm, etc.).

Lynx is a product of the Distributed Computing Group within Academic Computing Services of The University of Kansas. Lynx is copyrighted by the University of Kansas and is free for non-commercial use. Lynx can currently be obtained by anonymous ftp from: ftp2.cc.ukans.edu in the pub/lynx directory. Wow! Netscape

Netscape Navigator 4.03 is a VERY fast Web browser, featuring many substantial improvements over comparable network navigators.

The Netscape Navigator 4.03 is now available free via download for evaluation and academic/not-for-profit use. A commercial version for business and organizational use, complete with support, is available direct from Netscape Communications for a unit price of $39 ($20 for Reference Guide) on all platforms.

Wow! Tell me more.
